Match Report

YMCA produced an excellent performance to run out emphatic winners in very windy and difficult condition at Bolton last Sunday. Playing on a big 3g surface did not deter YMCA who started the game putting some fine passes together which led them to taking the lead after 15 mins, leading goalscorer Ellie Etheridge making no mistake inside the box. Ellie McNally then doubled YMCA's lead and it remained 2-0 at the break. Displaying lots of confidence YMCA maintained the upper hand after the restart and increased their lead to 3-0 when a great throw-in from Yasmine Menezes found Etheridge who finished well. McNally then doubled her tally for the day with an excellent run through the heart of the home defence before the home side pulled a goal back. However YMCA continued to impress and Etheridge scored again to complete her hat trick. Georgia Norman then got onto the scoresheet and Honey Griffith capped a fine display with a right footed effort from the edge of the box for YMCA’s seventh goal.  In an excellent YMCA team display Lara Pilling, Madison Lucas and Holly Crossley were all notable along with goalkeeper Olivia Neal who was dominant and solid whenever called upon.
