Match Report

YMCA were beaten by top of the table AFC Darwen in blustery conditions at Seafield last Sunday. A fierce cross wind and light rain throughout the game made for extremely difficult conditions for both teams to play passing football. The visitors were stronger on the day though and fully deserved their victory which ensured they clinched the league title. YMCA did try to put pressure on the Darwen goalkeeper and Georgia Norman worked tirelessly throughout upfront with great support from Ellie McNally in midfield. The visitors went into a 2-0 lead at half time and added another two goals after the break to seal victory. Madison Lucas was notable for YMCA in defence and they now look forward to a semi-final tie next weekend in the NVBGL Cup to try to claim some silverware in their first season together as a team.
