Match Report

YMCA earned a hard fought victory at a drizzly Seafield Road last Sunday. The visitors started well and looked intent on giving the home side a tough game. However YMCA responded well to produce some impressive passing football and eventually took the lead.  After some excellent play by Madison Lucas she found Ellie Etheridge who made no mistake with a fine finish. YMCA then started to impose themselves on the game and the impressive Etheridge bagged her second after latching on to an excellent through ball from Ellie McNally and it was 2-0 at the interval. Cadley came more into the game after the restart and scored midway through the half to make it 2-1. However YMCA were not to be outdone though and McNally then got onto the scoresheet after she forced her way through the visitors defence and netted with a fine finish. With two minutes remaining Cadley reduced their deficit to 3-2 but YMCA continued to work hard and in the end they did enough to deservedly claim the three points in a very entertaining game despite the unpleasant conditions.  In a fine YMCA team performance Yasmine Menezes and Honey Griffith were both excellent throughout in midfield with Olivia Neal dependable as ever in goal.
