Match Report

YMCA continued their good start to the season with this comprehensive victory on a sunny morning at Myerscough last Sunday. They were made to work hard by their hosts though despite them only able to muster six players. YMCA started brightly with some good passing football but found the home goalkeeper in fine form before the breakthrough eventually came midway through the first half with Georgia Norman finding space and sprinting clear to score her 5th goal of the season. A second goal soon followed with the impressive Isabelle Kells carrying the ball down the left towards goal before finishing superbly to give YMCA a 2-0 lead at half time. After the break YMCA continued to press but were thankful to goalkeeper Olivia Neal who denied the home team on a number of occasions with some vital saves. However they increased their lead when Kells grabbed her second goal with an excellent shot into the bottom corner after a mazy run. Kells then completed her hat trick after another determined run and a finish with her left foot. The icing on the cake was complete after Kells once again ran goalwards at pace and scored her fourth goal of the game. In a solid overall YMCA team display Lara Pilling, Honey Griffith and Ellie McNally were all notable.
