Match Report

YMCA were in fine form as they ran out convincing winners against their Rochdale based opponents at Seafield Road last Sunday. Despite not having played for over two months YMCA produced some outstanding football but the contest was a tight affair in the 1st half but as half time approached YMCA found the breakthrough. Captain Ellie McNally gathered the ball just inside Whitworth’s half and ran through the visitors defence and fire home to give her team a 1-0 interval lead. After the restart YMCA continued with their domination and McNally again powered through and slotted home to make it 2-0. McNally was not finished there though and she completed her hat trick soon after to make it 3-0. Whitworth however didn't give up and scored with 15 mins to go to make it 3-1 and set up a tense finish. However McNally capped off a girl of the match performance with her 4th goal with another good finish. 3 mins before the end Holly Crossley scored her first goal for the club with an excellent opportunist finish off to complete an impressive YMCA victory with a very pleasing team display. Honey Griffith and goalkeeper Olivia Neal were both notable for YMCA.
