Match Report

Manager Graham Ward had few words to say following this performance. Last weeks win against Riseley Sports had got Sandy Reserves season off and running, but they were brought crashing back down to earth as they visited league newcomers Stopsley Park.

Sandy were 3 - 1 down at half time in a game in which they capitulated against strong opposition much to Ward's disappointment.

Stopsley Park dominated the game for the most part and even though they conceeded goals from Charlie Seward and Adam Jones, they never looked like losing the game.

Some good news for Sandy was the return to action of Steve Jakes who missed all of pre season due to a nasty ankle injury. He was given a twenty minute run out for the reserve side in a effort to improve his fitness ready for a return to first team action. He came through the game with no ill effects.

The match also saw the last seasons player of the season Dean Hains return for the side but his efforts were also in vain as he could do little to improve the result.

Manager Ward failed to name a man of the match as he didn't feel that anybody warranted such an accolade.

Despite the disappointment Graham Ward looked to next weeks tie against Renhold Village who Sandy reserves did have some joy against last season and felt that if his team played to their potential they could take something from the game.
