Retford United 4-0 Dinnington Town FC

Dinnington Town had an afternoon to forget as Retford United ended up with an easy three points after some questionable defending for each of their four goals.

Retford bagged two in the first half, but Dinnington perhaps should have only a goal down at half time as Mason Barlow found himself with a great opportunity to pull one back but could only find the side netting from what was a very tight angle.

The second half showed further promise from the Phoenix Park outfit, with a great chance from Jacob France testing the Badger's goalkeeper. However further defensive lapses allowed Retford Utd to double their scoreline and send Dinnington Town home empty handed.

Manager Matt Jenkinson said: "Our defensive display was disappointing today, we started poorly and against a side as strong as Retford Utd we can't give chances away like we did or we get punished - that's what happened. It's the first league game of the season so we still have plenty to play for, so we won't over react - but we expect much better."
