Thorne Colliery 2-2 Dinnington Town FC

Town could only gain a point on their travels to Thorne Colliery, despite being two goals to the good.

The first half saw few clear cut chances, the best falling to Fabian Johnson whose toe poked effort flew wide.

The following 45mins saw all the action, started with Ryan Hall's 25yrd opener. Town's skipper saw his shot take a deft deflection off the head of a Colliery defender which inched the strike away from the goalkeepers reach.

Town doubled up soon after, a cross found Fabian Johnson unmarked to strike home.

Colliery bit back immediately, forcing a penalty after Jamie Ingham was adjudged to bring down the Colliery forward, who duly put the spot kick away.

Five minutes later, a ball over the top saw Colliery with time to chip Ingham, whose backpedalling could give him enough reach to tip it over the bar, the ball falling just beneath the bar.

Both sides had good chances to find a winner, with Colliery having two strikes cleared off the line.

Boss Matt Jenkinson said after the game: "Couldn't fault the lads effort and commitment today. A few weeks ago we'd have lost that game. There were some excellent individual performances, but the overall spirit of the boys was there for everyone to see, so well done to them. Proud of the debuts of youngsters Jack Squires, Callum Riley and Jamie Ingham."
