Newsome bids farewell

Posted Saturday 28th October 2017

After spending the last year with us as an integral part of our squad, Lewis Newsome has regretably decided to move on to pastures new.  He leaves with a heavy heart and on good terms having made many new friends, best friends and hopefully an extended family in footballing terms.

New Signing Announced!!!

Thursday 15th September 2016

As we look to begin the controlled growth of our squad in preparation for next years U9's (7v7) league, we are pleased to announce the completed sigining of Lewis Newsome from Hebburn.  After declaring his interests on social media to find an alternative avenue to play his football, a number of clubs and teams came forward looking to welcome him into their setup.  However, following a recommendation from respected coaches outside of the club and the completion of a successful trial training session from the perspective of both parties, Lewis immediately confirmed his desire to chose Hetton Lyons and dismiss all other options.  His transfer papers have been cmpleted and subitted to the FA today, however adminstrative efforts are still ongoing behind the scenes to enable Lewis's availability for this weekends match against Leam Rangers Orange.

His player profile will be completed in due course.

(Updated: 21-Nov-2017)

About Us:

The majority of the squad was initially formed in 2015 and has been grown and nurtured over the years with gradual additions to give us the great set of kids we have today.  We are currently enrolled in the Russel Foster U9's Youth league, playing 7v7 games.  The squad is a mixture of kids who have came togther from various schools, social circles, football camps, other sporting clubs and respected recommendations.

We also believe the spirit of a team can be greatly enhanced through opportunities beyond training and match days leading us to providing:

* Foot Golf social events

* Fancy Dress training sessions at holiday times

* Christmas parties

* 'Play On The Pitch' event at Everton's Goodison Park

Our Aims/Philosophy:

We are a team who takes great pride in the importance of the word 'Development' and our responsibility to educate, encourage and motivate those players under our guidance and care.  While winning games is a measure of success, and we always aim to win games, an improved run, turn, pass, tackle or save will serve them better and for longer than any single victory will provide.  Our approach has led to instilling a good work ethic and philosphy of how to play football within the players and their performances, coupled with a good atmosphere amongst the supporting families, validates our approach.

The Future:

As the seasons roll on we will progressively look to expand our team to meet the needs of 9v9, and 11v11 squad sizes.  If you or your child would like to be part of our growing family please feel free to contact us where we will be happy to discuss any current or future availability, potential training involvements etc.

Thanks for visiting.
