Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-15s 4-0 Langho

Despite a below par performance YMCA managed to notch up a victory at a sunny Seafield Road last Sunday to maintain their undefeated league record so far this season. The visitors matched YMCA in the first half and the home side were grateful for goalkeeper Olivia Neal for pulling off some fine saves to deny Langho taking the lead. YMCA did have chances and late in the first half and both Annabelle Jackson and Ellie McNally saw good efforts hit the bar but the score remained goalless at the interval.  After the restart though YMCA showed much more desire and began to play some fluent football and they finally broke the deadlock midway into the half.  The visitors cleared from a corner but the ball broke to Jackson at the edge of the penalty and she fired home into the top corner of the net.  YMCA soon doubled their lead when good work again from Jackson saw her shot saved by the goalkeeper but Isabelle Kells was on hand to fire home the rebound to make it 2-0.  It was Kells again who made the game safe with 10 mins to go when she broke free from the visitors defence and netted with a fine finish to make it 3-0.  As YMCA continued to press hard in the closing stages Saisha Bracken added a fourth goal to compete victory with a much improved second half display. Megan Lewis and Madison Lucas were both notable throughout.
