Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-15s 3-3 Lostock Hall

YMCA had to settle for a point in a thoroughly entertaining game in pleasant conditions at Seafield Road last Sunday.  Going into the game without their injured regular goalkeeper Madison Lucas and Georgia Norman were both tremendous throughout and deserve great credit for stepping into the breach when called upon for a half each.  YMCA started the game brightly and they took the lead after good work from Annabelle Jackson whose cross from the right broke to Saisha Bracken whose shot from outside the box hit the post but livewire Isabelle Kells was on hand to fire home the rebound.  The visitors were always dangerous on the break and they equalised after a corner went directly in the goal.  YMCA though continued to press and Jackson, who was a menace throughout for the visitors, hit a shot which rebounded off the post but once again Kells was on hand to finish and give them a 2-1 lead at the interval.  After the restart Lostock Hall continued to be well in the game and caught YMCA on the break to equalise.  YMCA though spurred on by captain Ellie McNally who was excellent throughout, did not give up and it was her commitment which won the ball and found Jackson on the right wing and after a great piece of trickery she struck a sweet strike which found the top corner to put YMCA 3-2 ahead.  YMCA continued to press hard and a great save from the visitors’ keeper denied McNally late on then with seconds remaining YMCA failed to deal with a last attack and the visitors grabbed an equaliser to end the game all square
