Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-16s | 19-0 | Barrowford Celtic |
YMCA eased to a comfortable victory in their first league game of the season at Seafield Rd last Sunday. They started brightly with purpose and took the lead in the 2nd minute after a throw in by Ellie McNally found Isabelle Kells who struck a shot on the half volley. Debutants Mia Woodhouse and Fran Lyons settled in well and it was a shot from Woodhouse which was spilled by the goalkeeper and Kells was on hand to make it 2-0. The compliment was then returned after a cross from Kells on the left found Woodhouse to finis and make it 3-0 before Lyons got in on the act with a goal straight from a corner to make it 4-0. An unfortunate own goal put YMCA further ahead and the final goal of the half saw Woodhouse score her second to make it 6-0 at the interval. In the second half YMCA continued to completely dominate and Kells bagged a further 5 goals with McNally (2), Woodhouse (3), Lyons and Abigail Smith all on target also. In an excellent team display Madison Lucas and Saisha Bracken were both notable throughout.
