Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-16s 3-2 Feniscowles & Pleasington

YMCA fully deserved their first win of the season after an entertaining game at Seafield Road last Sunday. They started the game with purpose and were determined to stamp their authority and it was no surprise they took the lead after 15 minutes after good work from Ellie McNally on the left who crossed for Isabelle Kells to finish to make it 1-0.  YMCA got their tactics right with Lara Pilling outstanding throughout breaking up play and starting attacks. Annabelle Jackson was a constant menace also with her pace and trickery.  In the 24th minute a corner from the notable Ellie McNally found Kells who headed home to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes and that is how is stayed going into half time. After the break Feniscowles started to come into the game and they scored to make it 2-1.  However within two minutes YMCA increased their lead after Yasmine Menezes was on hand to poke the ball home after a shot from Kells was parried.  Going into the final 15 minutes it became a tense affair and the visitors scored to make it 3-2 after an unfortunate own goal however goalkeeper Olivia Neal was assured and kept her nerve on many occasions.  YMCA never gave up and worked extremely hard to deny the visitors the equaliser and the score remained 3-2.  In a thoroughly entertaining game Honey Griffith, Georgia Norman, Ellie Jones, Madison Lucas and Phoebe Davies were all notable.
