Myerscough | 2-3 | Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-16s |
YMCA were made to work hard to claim the three points in a tight contest played in pleasant conditions at Myerscough College last Sunday . Going into the game after a spirited performance last weekend they took the lead after 10 mins when Ellie McNally played a through ball to Annabelle Jackson whose shot was parried by the home goalkeeper but Isabelle Kells was on hand to fire home the loose ball. However the home side got back into the game two mins later to make it 1-1 to end a hard fought first half. After the break YMCA upped their game producing some fine football which resulted in an excellent second goal. Saisha Bracken attacked down the right hand side and her excellent cross found Kells unmarked in the penalty area and she made it 2-1. YMCA then took a 2-goal lead when they caught Myerscough on the break and and superb pass from Jackson found her strike partner Kells who made no mistake to complete her hat trick and make it 1-3. With 3 mins remaining Myerscough got back into the game with a fortunate goal in the last few minutes to create a tense finish but YMCA held on to claim the vital points. Madison Lucas, Honey Griffith and McNally were all notable in a solid YMCA team display.
