WATERFIELD DOUBLE HELPS 12s TO KEEP IN CONTENTION AFTER DISATEROUS START

There were no Sunday games this weekend with the BDYFL deciding not to issue any more fixtures until the New Year. The PDPL didn't put any fixtures out for 5-a-side or 7-a-side age groups on the Saturday but games did take place for the 9-a-side age groups at Under 12s and 13s. Our Under 12s Boys were at Seafield taking on Warton on a very gloomy and overcast morning and after being forced out of action due to the weather for over a month we looked very rusty in the early stages. In contrast Warton started in very lively fashion with the stiff breeze behind them and took a 2-0 lead after just 10 mins. However, to the great credit of our boys they kept composed and eventually this was rewarded with three goals before the break to put us 3-2 ahead at the interval. We remained on top after the restart adding a further four goals with the visitors notching a 3rd to give us a 7-3 victory and keep us in title contention.  Ashley Waterfield led the way with two of our goals. They were the only YMCA team in action this weekend.
