1st NOVEMBER 2015

November arrived this weekend and Sunday was a typical November day, gloomy and overcast with mist shrouding the Fylde Coast throughout the day. Our 14s were at Stanley Park that afternoon taking on Layton Lions and despite our boys calving out numerous chances throughout the 1st half the game remained goalless at half time. It was a similar story in the 2nd half as well and the contest looked like ending in a stalemate but with just a minute to go we finally made a breakthrough. Zac Pearson delivered a fine cross into the Layton goalmouth where it was met by Adam Brooks who netted with a firm header to give us a 1-0 win.

Over at the Bispham Gala Field our 16s Boys met Blackpool Rangers for the 2nd time this season. We led twice in the first half through Harry Fisher and Owen Bridge but Rangers responded with two equalisers. However we took the lead for the 3rd time midway through the 2nd half with a fine header by Charlie Cadley and although Rangers threw everyone forward in the closing minutes we held on for a hard earned 3-2 victory. In the morning our 16s Girls took on Bolton Blues at Seafield where the mist lifted sufficiently enough for the game to kick off on time. The 1st half was evenly contested but Bolton led 1-0 at the interval and it remained a close game after the restart. Our girls though were displaying some great spirit and determination which was finally rewarded when Hanna Maskill slotted home an equaliser and it ended in a 1-1 draw. Our 12s Girls were hit by injuries and holidays leaving them with no substitutes for their trip to Whitworth Valley. We trailed 2-0 at the break but we pulled a goal back with a superb individual goal by Ellie McNally. However, we began to tire in the closing stages during which Whitworth added three further goals to run out 5-1 winners which was a rather harsh scoreline for the brave efforts of our girls.
