80% of scheduled games were called off after heavy rain had fallen throughout the previous week caused waterlogging of pitches throrughout the Fylde area. All Saturday's games were called off at Seafield because of standing water on several areas of the ground but the ground had dried up enough on Sunday to allow our Under 14s' Coulton Cup Group game against St Annes FC Greens to get the go ahead. With YMCA 2-0 ahead in the 15th min YMCA's youngest player in the team Josh Dolby-Armstrong, was brought down in the area when through on goal and the referee immediately awarded a spot kick. However Josh remained on the ground and it became quickly obvious that he was badly injured. An ambulance was sent for and the game was suspended for 35 mins whilst paramedics arrived and tended to the boy before taking him to Victoria Hospital. He injury was diagnosed as a fractured Fibular just above the ankle and a broken bone in his foot. He was detained overnight and underwent surgery on Monday morning. YMCA went on to win the game 10-0 but nobody was really celebrating victory afterwards. Josh is a very talented 12 year old playing above his age group and sincere best wishes go to him for a very speedy recovery.
