Following an exceptionally mild and dry autumn, more traditional November weather arrived this weekend. Heavy rain began falling in the early hours of Saturday morning and the games involving our Under 9s, 11s and 12s had to be called off due to standing water lying on our Seafield Rd pitches. Sunday was even worse with heavy rain blown by a strong blustery wind swept across the Fylde Coast and our Under 12s Girls and 16 Boys games due to be played at Seafield were also washed out. Although a handful of matches did go ahead in both youth leagues this weekend the majority of scheduled fixtures fell foul to the weather.

Our Under 14s game at Fleetwood Town did actually start but was abandoned after just 10 mins after our central defender Ruben Shaw and a Town player challenged for the ball and were involved in a collision with each other. It was obvious that both boys had sustained serious injuries and the game was immediately ended by the referee. An ambulance was called for and the two players were taken to hospital with suspected broken legs. Our best wishes for very speedy recoveries are conveyed to both boys.
