Match Report

Oh Dear.... were the words that Manager Graham Ward used to describe Sandy's performance against Division 4 Clifton Reserves. This was Sandy Reserves first group game in the new format of the Watson shield for the 2009/10 season.

Sandy want into the game with high hopes of progressing in this competition, but they allowed the Divsion 4 side to take the game to them in the first half.

A very poor team performance allowed Clifton to score 3 goals by half time, and despite a valiant effort from Captain Matt Gednay to get the team working during the first period it was to no avail as quite frankly Sandy just didn't turn up.

Overall the Clifton side had six shots on target and scored with five of them. Kevin Fage did score a consolation goal to raise Sandy's hopes of a comeback but it was too late.

To heap further misery on the team, Dean Hains was booked during the second half for continually kciking people instead of the ball.

It was a bad day for the side who will hope for a better performance when they travel to play Flitwick Town Reserves on Saturday 12th Dec.
