Match Report

Sandy reserves earned a well deserved point in a close match as the team battled to the end.

A very early sub was called as Webby needed to be removed from the pitch with a hamstring problem. Gippo now on, taking up the position to replace Webby. Some excellent challenges from both teams, with equally the same determination to score. Both sides goalkeepers were called upon to make excellent saves throughout the game, short balls and ball to feet seemed to be the order of the day again for Sandy, where as Kempston favoured the long ball across the top looking for their number 17 Gary Whitbread, (who was top goal scorer for last season for the division), however Sandy were wise to this and managed to block the play keeping him away from shooting.

Making a welcome return was John Shep who was now back from injury. He joined the field showing confidence as he took up from were he left off last season.

Jonnie's forward movements were again flagged for offside sometimes it seemed to suit the play as we attacked.

Brad's positive play was rewarded with man off the match, he is having a great start to the season with a positive attitude and such an encourager.

Chris Gregory started for the first time this season, as his fitness was near back in shape and for the first time ever Chris took charge with the Captains arm band.

Jonnie's day was made as he received the ball from Barker and converted the attempt into our goal bringing the result to a draw. Final Score 1-1.
