Town fell to a second defeat in as many games as fallen giants Retford United hit five at Phoenix Park.
Despite the heavy scoreline, the first half saw few chances for either side in a well contested battle. United took a slender one goal lead into the break, a poor free kick bounced around the penalty box before being prodded home.
The Dinno boy's did not come out for the second half with the right attitude and quickly lost control of the game, with Retford quick enhancing their lead. Sloppy passing and dithering in possession allowed United some easy chances which they took.
Manager Matt Jenkinson admitted he was "greatly disappointed with the second half performance" but "Retford United were the much better team and deserved the victory."
