Lytham St Annes YMCA Girls U-16s 5-1 Euxton Girls

YMCA maintained their 100% record with this victory in difficult cold and windy conditions at Seafield Road on Sunday morning. The wind was always going to be a factor and it was YMCA who had it in their favour in the 1st half and they settled quickly. They took the lead within the first 10 mins when after some excellent work by Ellie McNally on the right her pass found Annabelle Jackson who skillfully fed fellow striker Isabelle Kells who made no mistake in firing home. YMCA soon doubled the lead when an excellent through ball from Madison Lucas at the back found Jackson and with a clinical finish scored against her former team.  Captain McNally was dictating midfield and she soon got on the scoresheet after Honey Griffith had played a neat pass to her  she drove forward before powering an unstoppable shot past the keeper.  Euxton though never gave up and they punished YMCA by cashing in on hesitation in the home defence to make the score 3-1. However YMCA continued to dominate and Kells found space and nipped in to score her second of the game to make it 4-1 at the interval.  The second half was a much tighter affair with YMCA facing the blustery wind and their chances became few and far between. However they finished the game off with a fifth goal when Georgia Norman, who was outstanding throughout, fired a shot that could only be parried by the keeper and Kells was on hand to pounce on to the rebound and complete her hat trick.  In a pleasing YMCA team performance considering the difficult conditions Lara Pilling and Megan Lewis were both notable.
