COUNTY CUP TIES WASHED OUT
Two of our teams should have been involved in LFA Cup ties this weekend. Our 13s should have been at Leyland Albion and our 16s at Ramsbottom Jun but both ties were postponed due to waterlogged pitches. Both games have now been rescheduled for this coming Sunday 8th October. Meanwhile our 15s had a high scoring victory in the league at neighbours Lytham Jun at Park view Rd. A double strike by Jack Robinson helping us to a 9-5 win after the two teams were locked at 3-3 at half time. A Reece Henderson hat trick was the feature of our 12s 5-3 victory over Poulton Town at Seafield but also at Seafield our 10s Blacks went down 3-2 to Kirkham Reds after we had led 1-0 at the break. Our 11 Oranges though recorded an excellent 7-2 win at Clifton Rangers Hornets, the outstanding Mason Wilkins weighing in with four of our goals.

MIXED FORTUNES IN COUNTY CUPS
Our 12s Boys stormed into the 3rd round of the County Cup with a resounding 8-2 victory over Lancaster based Lune Valley at Seafield Rd on Sunday morning. We took an early lead but the visitors equalised just 3 mins later. However we got the upper hand and netted three more goals to take 1 4-1 lead into the interval. We scored another four times in the 2nd half with Lune Valley notching a late consolation. Ali Ruman impressed throughout for YMCA and he bagged himself a hat trick with Luke Doherty claiming a pair. In the afternoon at Seafield our 15s Boys had a County Cup tie against Padiham Saints but we were depleted with injuries and could only field 10 players. Despite this though Jacob Grice headed us in front inside the first 5 mins and we held on to this lead until half time. Padiham though netted twice within 10 mins of the restart then added another to go 3-1 in front. a 2nd goal from Grice reduced the arrears but our one-man disadvantage told in the latter stages and the visitors scored again to go home with a 4-2 victory. Also at Seafield that afternoon our 13s Boys had a league game against Thornton Reds and helped by a 5-goal haul by Noah Mawene and a hat trick from Owen McConnell we finished up 10-1 winners.

The LSA YMCA FC's new season got underway this weekend. Six of our teams were in action and all achieved victories. On a bright and sunny Saturday our 9s, 11s Oranges and Blacks all having fine wins. Sunday was totally different as regards the weather with heavy drizzle falling all day with a cool breeze as well but it was still a good day for our three teams who had games. Our 12s sampled County Cup action for the first time with a trip to Rishton where we came away 4-1 winners. Our 13s played their first game in the 11-a-side format with only ten players available due to holidays but with an excellent all round team display we claimed a 7-0 victory at Blackpool Rangers Titans, Noah Mawene leading the way with a hat trick. Our 15s kicked off their new campaign with an impressive 5-1 victory over BJFF Blades at Seafield. Jake Molloy and Taylor Stock both his pairs with James Hughes also on target. Our 14s Girls had a friendly against Cadley JFC at a wet and blustery morning at Seafield and helped by four goals by Ellie McNally we had a 5-1 win.

SPECTACULAR GOALS GIVE 15s DERBY VICTORY
Therre was only one YMCA team in competitive action this weekend. Our Under 15s had a local derby against Lytham Juniors at Seafield and it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 20th min. YMCA equalised with a great team goal 10 mins later when a flowing move involving several players was finished with Toby Grant finding the net with a fine shot. Soon after the restart Lytham regainded the lead but YMCA levelled again with a great individual effort by Harvey Shaw. He collected the ball on the left and with some clever footwork rounded three defenders before firing the ball superbly into the far top corner of the net. Five minutes later an even more spectacular goal put YMCA ahead for the first time. A clearance out of Lytham's defence was gathered on the half way line by Taylor Stock and spotting the keeper was off his line he lobbed the ball goalwards and it fell under the crossbar and into the net. This proved to be the winner and all the goals in this 3-2 victory were worthy of winning any game. A very sporting and entertaining contest which was a great credit to both teams.
Afer more heavy rain last week many pitches were left waterlogged for the Saturday morning games but non-competitive games went ahead at Seafield involving YMCA's Under 8s,8s, 10s and 11s
