12/13th SEPTEMBER 2015

Our Under 12s Girls kicked off their new season on a sunny Sunday morning at Seafield with a 5-1 defeat of Langho. We started brightly and took an early lead through Georgia Norman before an Ellie McNally strike made it 2-0 at the break. We remained in control in the second half and Norman scored twice more to complete her hat trick with McNally notching her second to round off an excellent YMCA victory.

The sun continued to shine in the afternoon at Seafield where our Under 16s Boys entertained Wyre Juniors in the 1st round of the County Cup. We proved too strong for the visitors and a double hat trick by Jack Bishop eased us to a 9-0 voctory, Owen Bridge weighing in with a couple of goals. Over at the Bispham Gala Field our 14s were hit by an early blitz by hosts Blackpool Rangers who shot into a 4-0 lead inside the first 15 mins then netted twice more before the break to take a 6-0 interval lead. Our 2nd half display though was much improved and we pulled a goal back through the impressive James Hughes. Rangers added just once to their total to run out 7-1 winners.

The day before our 12s Boys had an excellent 4-1 victory over Poulton FC Stripes. We were on top from the start and reached the interval with a 3-0 lead. The 2nd half was much more even though with both teams netting a goal apiece. Ashley Waterfield notched a pair for our boys who had reached the 2nd round of the County Cup the previous week without kicking a ball. Opponents St Annes FC couldn't raise a team on the day so we were awarded a victory by 'Walk Over'.
