WEEKEND 28/29th NOVEMBER 1015

WEATHER DECIMATES LOCAL YOUTH FOOTBALL AGAIN

The weather on the last weekend of November was just the same as it had been throughout the month with gales and rain continuing relentlessly. The Blackpool Youth League cancelled it's entire league programme on Sunday afternoon but many games would have been postponed anyway with pitches being waterlogged. It was the weather conditions that day though which was deemed unfit for games to be played and quite rightly as well. A 50mph gale was blowing and some of the frequent rain showers which fell throughout the day were horrendous and I'm sure nobody would have enjoyed playing in such conditions one little bit.

Many of the PDPL's mini soccer games were washed out on Saturday morning as well but things went ahead at Seafield Rd as planned with our Under 7s, 9s,  10s and 11s all in action. In the PDPL Cup Group stages our 9s Oranges overcame Foxhall Hoops 7-0 with Dan Chesney and Harvey Barber both claiming hat tricks, A Will Tobin strike completing the scoring. Our 10s also chalked up a victory with a 4-0 win over Blackpool Rangers Tangerines. Ali Ruman netted twice, Dev Cooney and Reece Godfrey also on target. Our 9s Blacks though went down 4-0 against BJFF Whites at the Bispham Gala Field. Our 11s were in league action at Seafield where we came out 7-2 winners against BJFF Blades. Noel Mawene and Charlee McGuiness both his pairs with Daniel Keegan, Thomas Shuttleworth and Kaiden Pirrie our other marksmen. Every credit to all teams who turned out on such a cold, windy and wet morning because conditions were extremely unpleasant to say the least
